Judicial Council recommends Basudev Acharya as Special Court chair

The Judicial Council has recommended Tulsipur High Court Judge Basudev Acharya for appointment as chairperson of the Special Court. The recommendation was made during the council's meeting on Thursday, which also approved a major reshuffle of High Court and District Court judges and recommended new appointments to several judicial bodies.

KATHMANDU, July 16: The Judicial Council has recommended Tulsipur High Court Judge Basudev Acharya for appointment as chairperson of the Special Court.



The recommendation was made during the council's meeting on Thursday, which also approved a major reshuffle of High Court and District Court judges and recommended new appointments to several judicial bodies.

Acharya has been recommended to replace Sudarshan Dev Bhatt, the current chairperson of the Special Court.


The council also recommended Patan High Court Judge Dhruva Raj Chand as chair and legal member of the Revenue Tribunal in Kathmandu, Pokhara High Court Judge Anju Upreti Dhakal for the Revenue Tribunal in Pokhara, and High Court Biratnagar Judge Dipendra Bahadur Bam for the Revenue Tribunal in Biratnagar.


In addition, the council recommended Surkhet High Court Judge Dipendra Adhikari for appointment as chairperson of the Labour Court.
