KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Landslides triggered by incessant rainfall have killed six people, including a five-year-old girl, and left three others missing in Myagdi.
According to the District Police Office, the bodies of Sabin Garbuja, 19, from Annapurna Rural Municipality-8, Kaphaldanda; Yomaya Paija, 54, from Annapurna Rural Municipality-3, Phagam; Chiran Pun, 31, and Dev Bahadur, 28, both from Malika Rural Municipality-3, Dandagaun; Jeni Purja, 5, from Annapurna Rural Municipality-6, Giwang; and Shilkumari Garbuja, 75, from Annapurna Rural Municipality-3, Phagam, have been recovered.

The missing are Om Bahadur Tilija, 75, from Annapurna Rural Municipality-6; Manoj Garbuja, 21, from Annapurna Rural Municipality-8; and Kumari BK from Beni Municipality-3, Bhakimli Chhepäre. Police said Manoj Garbuja’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Meanwhile, 78 people have been evacuated to safer locations with the help of a Nepali Army helicopter. Police teams have been deployed to affected areas for further rescue and relief operations.
The landslides have disrupted traffic along several sections of the Beni-Jomsom and Beni-Darbang roads, with efforts underway to reopen the routes.
