KATHMANDU, July 28: The last known mobile location of the 16-member Hayu family from Golanjore Rural Municipality in Sindhuli– missing for the past few days– has been traced to Simandichhap in Ramechhap Municipality–9.
Police traced the family members’ mobile phones and found their last location in the Simandichhap area before the devices were switched off. Based on this, police teams have been deployed to the suspected site.

DSP Bhola Kumar Bhatt from the District Police Office, Ramechhap, said the Simandichhap mobile tower might have also shown coverage from the family’s residence area in Sindhuli. This means the phones could have been in Sindhuli but picked up signals from Ramechhap towers due to signal overlap.
Still, assuming the family may have traveled to the location, police are conducting a search operation in the area.
The missing family, led by Urmila Hayu, lived in Bhandas Bippar Kateri, near Chetpa in Golanjore–6, Sindhuli. The family has been out of contact since Monday morning.
Ramechhap police said they are searching house to house in Wards 8 and 9 of Ramechhap Municipality, which are mostly inhabited by the Hayu community.
