Local polls will be held in April-May: Deuba

RAUTAHAT, Jan 22: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that local elections will be held in April-May.

RAUTAHAT, Jan 22: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that local elections will be held in April-May.



Talking briefly to media persons on Sunday, Deuba claimed that the polls will be held in a consensus among all the political parties. 



The former Prime Minister had arrived here today to attend a marriage reception.



On a separate note, he said that parliament will endorse the constitution amendment bill through a two-thirds majority. He added that the ruling parties are attempting to garner CPN-UML’s support to the amendment bill.



He also said that the demands of United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) will be addressed by the amendment.
