KATHMANDU, April 14: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has started holding interactions with the federal alliance and other ethnic communities saying that the government did not address its demands within the given deadline. The UDMF had set April 12 deadline for the government to fulfill its demands.

According to UDMF leaders, as many as 15 fringe parties involved in the federal alliance are taking part in the interaction at the central party headquarters of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) in Tinkune.

Expressing strong exception to the new constitution, the UDMF had launched a six-month long agitation in the Tarai region.

India had imposed an unofficial blockade on Nepal in support of the UDMF. UDMF's agitation in Tarai fizzled out after India lifted its unofficial blockade on Nepal.

The government has already amended the constitution to address the demands of the agitating Madhesi parties. Seeking ways to resolve the differences seen on provincial delineation, the government has formed a High Level Political Mechanism (HLPM). But the HLPM is yet become complete as the UDMF hasn't sent its representatives.

Concluding that the government is not ready to address its demands, the UDMF has been saying that there is no alternative to the agitation. To devise a strategy on coming protest programs, the UDMF is holding the interaction with the federal alliance comprising 15 fringe parties, said a UDMF source.
