Mini truck knocks down five-yr-old boy to death in Kailali

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hira Singh Mahar, chief of the Area Police Office, Malakheti, Deuba was walking along the East-West Highway when the mini-truck hit him. He was rushed to Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi, where he died during treatment.

KAILALI, Sept 15: A five-year-old boy died after being hit by a mini-truck in Gauriganga Municipality-2 of Kailali district on Tuesday.



The deceased has been identified as local resident Lekhraj Deuba.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hira Singh Mahar, chief of the Area Police Office, Malakheti, Deuba was walking along the East-West Highway when the mini-truck hit him. He was rushed to Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi, where he died during treatment.


Police said the boy sustained serious injuries to his head and chest in the accident. The truck, bearing registration number Se 1 Ka 1352, was traveling eastward from the west when it struck the child.


Police have taken the driver, 29-year-old Sunil Chaudhary of Lamkichuha Municipality-2, into custody.


Further investigation into the incident is underway.
