Addressing a two-day meeting of local administrators, Minister Basnet said that the implementation of the constitution is possible only through unity among major political parties.
Saying that people are for a consensual government, Minister Basnet accused that some opposition leaders are in an exercise to form a majority government.
“Some leaders say that democracy is possible only through a strong opposition. It may be correct in principle, but there is no alternative to a consensual government in the present circumstances,” he said, “Such a government will further strengthen democracy.”
