KATHMANDU, Dec 6: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel has stated that the environment for the polls has become further robust following the joint meeting among the government, major political parties, Election Commission and security bodies held on Friday evening.
Talking to media persons after the Friday meeting at the official residence of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar, Minister Kharel said the meeting was fruitful and had created an environment for the upcoming poll.

"The path to election has become further robust. The environment has been assured for conducting the polls in a free, fair and fearless manner," the Minister said.
He stated that the meetings before this were bilateral and trilateral, but today's meeting solely focused on the election among all stakeholders, and thus has created an environment for the poll.
On the occasion, he shared that a security action plan and strategy have been prepared by the government and would be implemented soon, adding that intensive discussions were held today on possible security threats and managerial aspects.
Likewise, candid discussions were held on fake news, misinformation and disinformation surrounding elections.
According to Minister Kharel, "Some political parties have expressed their concerns on the poll environment, including security. The government is aware of that end."
