KATHMANDU, Sept 20: Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has taken the oath of office and confidentiality as a central secretariat member and central committee member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

Shrestha was elected as a central committee member with 2,123 votes at the RSP’s first general convention held in Chitwan in June.
At its central committee meeting on August 21, Chair Lamichhane nominated Shrestha as a member of the party’s central secretariat.
Taking the oath, Shrestha pledged to carry out his responsibilities with integrity.
He thanked the party’s members for electing him to the central committee with more than two-thirds of the votes at the party’s first historic general convention and pledged to fulfill his duties by incorporating everyone’s support, cooperation, coordination and suggestions.
