KATHMANDU, Aug 7: The monsoon remains active across the country, with rainfall expected in most areas over the next three days, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
The DHM said monsoon activity is likely to continue as the monsoon trough remains around its average position in the eastern region and slightly north of its average position in the western region.

The country is expected to experience generally to completely cloudy conditions on Friday. Some areas in the hilly and mountainous regions are likely to receive moderate rainfall, with chances of snowfall in the higher Himalayan areas. Moderate rainfall is also possible in a few parts of the Tarai, the department said.
Tonight, rainfall is expected in some mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the hilly regions of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. The department has urged caution, as heavy rainfall is possible at one or two places in Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
Similarly, Saturday is expected to remain generally to completely cloudy nationwide. Moderate rainfall and snowfall are likely in some hilly and mountainous areas, while some parts of the Tarai may also receive rain. Rainfall activity is expected to continue in most areas during the night.
Rainfall activity is forecast to intensify on Sunday, with moderate rain likely at many places in the hilly regions. Heavy rainfall is possible at one or two locations in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. The DHM said rainfall is also likely in several parts of Koshi Province, including the Himalayan, hilly and Tarai regions, during the night.
