Monsoon systems weaken across country

KATHMANDU, July 24: The influence of monsoon winds is currently weak over the country, as the low-pressure line lies to the south of its average position.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces will remain mostly cloudy, while the rest of the provinces will see partly cloudy conditions. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, as well as in a few other regions across the country.


Tonight, the skies in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati Provinces, as well as the hilly regions of the country, will generally remain mostly cloudy. In contrast, the remaining regions will experience partly cloudy conditions. Some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati Provinces may experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. There is also a possibility of heavy rain at one or two locations in the hills and Terai of Koshi Province, as well as in parts of Madhesh Province, the MFD reported.
