KATHMANDU, July 4: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has indicated a chance of rain in most parts of the country today as monsoon winds continue to influence the weather.
Currently, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces are generally cloudy, while Madhesh Province is partly cloudy, according to the weather bulletin issued on Saturday.
Rainfall likely in Koshi and Madhesh provinces
The division has also predicted moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of Bagmati, Koshi, and Lumbini provinces.
This afternoon, the weather across the country will remain generally cloudy. Some places in the Himalayan and hilly regions are likely to experience moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning, while some higher Himalayan areas may witness snowfall. There is also a chance of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in some parts of the Terai.
Tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy across the country. Some places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and Lumbini provinces may experience moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning, while some higher Himalayan areas may also receive snowfall. Additionally, moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is possible in some parts of the hilly and Terai regions.
The MFD has urged residents of the hilly and Terai areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces to remain alert, as heavy rainfall is possible at one or two places in these areas.
