KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Shram Sanskriti Party lawmaker Aren Rai has urged the government to step up efforts to search for and rescue Nepali nationals missing after an avalanche on Mount Himlung in Manang.
Speaking in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Wednesday, Rai said the government had not done enough to locate the missing and urged it to intensify the search.

He also criticized the government for failing to communicate with the family of Arjun Dong, who died by suicide after setting himself on fire in Tripureshwar. Rai said Dong’s family had been waiting outside the Home Ministry to meet the minister but was not allowed to enter.
Rai also raised concerns over Nepali workers in Poland who have been unable to open bank accounts, saying Nepal’s placement on the “gray list” was behind the problem.
He urged the Foreign Ministry and other concerned ministries to take immediate diplomatic initiatives to resolve the issue and address the concerns of Nepali migrant workers.
