MPs asked to submit asset details by May 24

KATHMANDU, March 30: The Federal Parliament Secretariat has requested all members elected to the House of Representatives to submit their asset details by May 24.



In a notice issued a few days ago, the secretariat asked all lawmakers elected in the March 5 election and sworn in on March 26 to disclose their property details within the stipulated deadline.

According to the notice, the requirement follows provisions under Section 50(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002 (2059 BS) and Section 31A(1) of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Act, 1991 (2048 BS).


The laws require individuals holding public office to submit their asset declarations within 60 days of assuming office.
