KATHMANDU, Sept 16: National Assembly members have urged the government to ensure adequate supplies of essential goods, including cooking gas, as major festivals such as Dashain and Tihar approach.
National Assembly member Narayandatta Bhatta said problems such as the shortage of cooking gas and rising prices of essential goods had not been resolved despite the festivals drawing closer.
Member Bishnubahadur Bishwakarma said Prime Minister Balendra Shah, who is preparing to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, should raise the issue of climate justice.

Member Samjhana Devkota said the government should reconsider the development of large settlements along riverbanks without taking geographical conditions into account.
Member Basudev Ghimire said the Gen Z movement had taken place with demands for corruption control and good governance, and urged the current government to implement those demands.
Member Gomadevi Timilsina said she had received complaints that relief was not being distributed to Bhotekoshi flood victims without discrimination.
Similarly, member Dharmendra Paswan called on the government to introduce a concrete policy for the education sector. Member Jagat Bahadur Parki said the public wanted to see a change in the government’s conduct and urged it to act accordingly.
