KATHMANDU, Aug 2: Nepal will be able to participate in the SAFF Championship to be held in Bangladesh in November only if the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) lifts its suspension imposed on the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) released the tie-sheet for the tournament on Saturday. During the same event, SAFF mentioned that Nepal will be allowed to play in the tournament only if the FIFA suspension is lifted by September 30.

Nepal, which has been suspended by the world football governing body, could not even participate in the tie-sheet draw ceremony. According to SAFF, if the suspension is lifted, Nepal will be able to play in the championship as the last team in one of the two groups.
In the tie-sheet draw held on Saturday, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan were drawn in Group ‘A’. Similarly, India, the Maldives and Pakistan are in Group ‘B’.
Bangladesh has been given the responsibility of organizing this edition of the SAFF Championship. The tournament is scheduled to be held from November 4 to 17.
