KATHMANDU, Sept 30: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell below the 2,600-point mark on Wednesday, dropping 4.82 points to close at 2,598.89.
The index had last closed below 2,600 points on September 14 but recovered in subsequent trading sessions.
The Sensitive Index fell 2.02 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index declined 0.43 points and 0.65 points, respectively.
Nepse marginally lower in week after last session recovery
Despite the decline, turnover increased by Rs 11 crore compared with Tuesday. A total of 12.65 million shares of 352 companies changed hands in 47,900 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs 4.765 billion. Turnover stood at Rs 4.65 billion on Tuesday.
Shares of Sindhu Bikash Bank gained the most, rising 14.37 percent. Shares of Sayapatri Hydropower increased by around 8.5 percent, while Ghalemdi Hydro rose by around 7.5 percent.
Ghalemdi Hydro recorded the highest turnover at Rs 394.8 million, followed by Peoples Hydropower Company with around Rs 230 million and Manjushree Finance with around Rs 185 million.
Of the 13 sub-indices, three posted gains while 10 declined.
