KATHMANDU, Sept 23: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) nosedived 36.25 points (1.36 percent) as all the stock market indices plunged on Wednesday trading.
The secondary market went into a straight fall from the starting of trading hour and reached the day’s low at 2,613.19 points in the last two minutes before it recovered around five points. The daily turnover amount also declined to Rs 6.35 billion from Rs 7.04 billion of the previous day.

Of 13 sectors, the Life Insurance sector saw the steepest decline, dropping by 246.65 points (2.04 percent). As non-life insurance fell 129.78 points, nine groups had their market values decline by double-digit points, with the exception of investment and mutual funds.
The share prices of 23 companies rose; those of 253 companies fell as the prices of two companies remained unchanged.
Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha saw a 15 percent rise in its share price, followed by CYC Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha with 5.44 percent rise. On the other hand, First Micro Finance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha fell by 8.54 percent, the highest of all.
The companies with the highest turnover were Shivam Cements (Rs 383.44 million), followed by Reliance Spinning Mills and Himalayan Distillery Limited.
