NEPSE plunges nearly 30 points in two days, daily turnover pathetic

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday fell 13.85 points and closed at 2,531.55 points, with all the sub-groups posting downfall in their market indices.

KATHMANDU, Sept 10: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday fell 13.85 points and closed at 2,531.55 points, with all the sub-groups posting downfall in their market indices.



This is the second consecutive day that the secondary market declined by double digit points, with a cumulative decline of nearly 30 points in two trading days. Along with the market index, the daily turnover amount also declined to Rs 3.99 billion from Rs 4.19 billion on the previous day.

As the value of 68 companies increased, the value of 199 decreased, while eight remained stable. The manufacturing and processing group decreased the most by 1.14 percent (121 points). The declined rate of 12 remaining groups remained at less than one percent.


Among individual companies, the share price of Liberty Energy increased by the highest of 15 percent. Similarly, Dolti Power increased by 8.22 percent and that of Upper Lohorekhola by 7.02 percent.


The price of Sindhu Bikas Bank fell by 15 percent. Likewise, Corporate Development Bank fell by 5.24 percent and Shubham Power by 5.19 percent.


The companies with the large amount of transactions are Liberty Energy, Reliance Spinning Mills, NRN Infrastructure, Nepal SBI Bank, Ridi Power, Solu Hydropower, Garima Bikas Bank, and Sanima Middle Tamor.
