KATHMANDU, May 6: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday decreased marginally by 1.64 points to close at 2,711.22 points.
The secondary market that opened at 2,712.86 points initially plunged to as low as 2,708.76 points in the first nine minutes. The market however rose to the day’s high at 2,723.88 points in the next half an hour. The market remained almost stable for the next one hour, as it went to a gradual fall to reach the day’s low at 2,705.79 points in the last six minutes, while the market recovered around six points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Eight sectors had their market values increased, as microfinance inclined by the largest of 22.89 points. Of the five losers, manufacturing and processing plunged by the largest of 63.43 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, increased 0.80 points. Daily turnover fell to Rs 3.19 billion from Rs 3.43 billion.
Among the individual companies, 104 were the gainers as 149 lost their charms for the investors. Solu Hydropower Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 221.15 million.
Forward Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited witnessed the highest gain of 13.74 percent in its market value. Bhagawati Hydropower Development Company stood as the topmost loser of 8.90 percent.
