JANAKPURDHAM, Sept 11: Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel has said that the government is preparing to introduce a new curriculum from the next academic session.
Speaking at a programme in Janakpurdham on Thursday, Minister Pokharel said groundwork to revise the curriculum is underway in line with the changing needs and demands of students.
Stating that suggestions are being collected from stakeholders across the country through a task force, he said a comprehensive revision of the existing curriculum is necessary. He added that the new curriculum would be implemented from the next academic session after incorporating the recommendations received.

"The issue of how to use artificial intelligence should be incorporated into the curriculum at a time when AI is being widely used," he said, adding that the new curriculum should also include provisions for practical and technical education.
Saying that the government is preparing to introduce the School Education Bill soon, he expressed confidence that many problems related to school education would be resolved once the bill is enacted.
Similarly, Madhes Province Minister for Education and Culture Manoj Kumar Singh said the provincial government is ready to move ahead in coordination and collaboration with the federal government to improve Nepal's education system.
He stressed that the Madhes Province government has prioritised the necessary policies and programmes to ensure quality education at the school level.
Likewise, Executive Director of the Curriculum Development Centre Mahendra Parajuli said the task force has been carrying out activities related to curriculum revision.
Students, teachers and representatives of various organisations in the education sector were present on the occasion.
