No formal directive to recall Neupane and Dhakal: Parajuli

KATHMANDU, Sept. 6: Ganesh Parajuli, deputy leader of the parliamentary party of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has said the party has issued no formal directive to recall Shriram Neupane and Sagar Dhakal from disaster-affected areas. Parajuli clarified that neither the Central Committee, Secretariat nor any other level of the party has made a formal decision or issued instructions targeting any particular individual deployed to disaster-hit areas. He said he made the clarification through social media to dispel confusion that had emerged publicly over the issue. He said the party’s policy and direction have been clear from the outset: from ordinary members to senior leaders, everyone should contribute to making the state’s search, rescue and relief operations more effective, organized and supportive. Clarifying remarks he made while speaking with journalists about lawmakers Sagar Dhakal and Shriram Neupane, who are involved in rescue operations, Parajuli said his intention was simply to ensure that their presence in the field does not obstruct the work of security agencies or rescue mechanisms, and that people’s skills, capabilities and expertise are used where they are most needed. He said his comments had been misunderstood in a different context, and reports suggesting that the party had made a formal decision had created confusion. Parajuli said the contributions of people with diverse skills and expertise working in disaster-hit areas have helped search and rescue efforts, adding that the party respects such contributions. “Our clear appeal is that those whose skills, capabilities and expertise are needed should coordinate with the relevant authorities and work to save citizens’ lives,” he said. He added that at this critical time, saving every life must take precedence over personal or political criticism. “I sincerely appeal to everyone to devote all our strength, coordination and responsibility to serving the people,” Parajuli said.
