KATHMANDU, Sept 17: Amid ongoing discussion in Nepal over reports concerning the "Grayzone", Gen Z movement leader Rabi Kiran Hamal has made strong remarks about Rabi Lamichhane and other members of the current political leadership.
In a Facebook post, Hamal alleged that Lamichhane had renounced his Nepali citizenship and obtained US citizenship and a passport. He said it was unfortunate that the leadership of Nepal’s largest political party had reached someone who had chosen another country’s citizenship over Nepali citizenship.
The claim about Lamichhane’s citizenship history should be distinguished from established court findings, which have previously dealt with the legal process surrounding his Nepali citizenship.

Hamal also claimed, citing the National Human Rights Commission, that Rabi Lamichhane, the current Speaker, some ministers and lawmakers, and the current prime minister were linked to last year’s Gen Z movement turning violent, the breaking of prisoners out of jail and damage in various parts of the country.
He also questioned the circumstances that have led to reliance on the "Grayzone".
“Why should we have to rely on the Grayzone?” he asked.
Targeting leaders currently in power, Hamal wrote: “They are in power now. The day after they leave power, they will be in prison forever. That time is approaching.”
The remarks came as Lamichhane, who chairs the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party, has recently been involved in all party discussions on disaster management and has called for an expert study of the recent disaster.
