ACHHAM, June 7: One person died and two others were injured after a jeep met with an accident in Kamalbazaar Municipality-7, Kwallekh of Achham district.
According to police, the accident occurred last night when a jeep (Se 1 Ja 613) driven by 26-year-old Pushpa Budha of Turmakhand Rural Municipality-3 lost control and fell about 200 meters off the road.
Karn Bahadur Bhat, 34, of Kamalbazaar-7, sustained critical injuries and later died during treatment at the district hospital in Mangalsen, confirmed Deputy Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Khanal.
13 injured in jeep accident in Achham
A police team led by Inspector Saroj Kumar Kaila from the Area Police Office, Kamalbazaar, reached the scene and carried out rescue operations, taking the injured to the district hospital.
Two others were injured in the crash, including the deceased’s 13-year-old son Min Bahadur Bhat and 30-year-old Badri Bhat from the same area. Both have been referred to Provincial Hospital Surkhet for further treatment.
Police have taken the driver into custody and an investigation into the incident is underway.
