One held with over INR 372,000 in unexplained cash

According to the District Police Office, Banke, the suspect, Sunil Kumar Baniya was detained from Tribhuvan Chowk, Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City–11. Police seized 645 notes of INR 500, 502 m,notes of INR 100 and 100 notes of NPR 1,000 from his possession.

NEPALGUNJ, Dec 15: Police have arrested a man in Nepalgunj in possession of a large amount of unexplained cash including INR 372,700 and NPR 100,000.



According to the District Police Office, Banke, the suspect, Sunil Kumar Baniya was detained from Tribhuvan Chowk, Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City–11. Police seized 645 notes of INR 500, 502 m,notes of INR 100 and 100 notes of NPR 1,000 from his possession.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Pataley said Baniya will be handed over to the Revenue Investigation Office Kohalpur for further investigation.


Police said the arrest was made following a tip-off that Baniya, the operator of Kumar General Store at Tribhuvan Chowk, was involved in transactions of money with an undisclosed source.
