PM Shah holds consultations with representatives from disaster-hit areas

The meeting is reviewing the situation in the affected areas, assessing current challenges, and discussing immediate response measures as well as recovery and reconstruction efforts.

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Prime Minister Balendra Shah is holding consultations with elected representatives from disaster-hit districts and local levels affected by the August 26 Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa.



The meeting began at 11 am today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) in Singha Durbar. Representatives from 15 districts and local levels declared disaster-crisis-hit areas taking part in the discussions.


According to the OPMCM, the meeting is reviewing the situation in the affected areas, assessing current challenges, and discussing immediate response measures as well as recovery and reconstruction efforts.

Members of the House of Representatives from Nuwakot, Dr Bikram Timilsina and Achyutam Lamichhane, are attending the meeting along with local government representatives from Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Dhading, Gorkha and Tanahun.


Representatives from Nuwakot include Bidur Municipality Mayor Rajan Shrestha, Belkotgadhi Municipality Mayor Jagat Bahadur Gurung, Kispang Rural Municipality Chairperson Birbal Tamang and Tarkeshwar Rural Municipality Chairperson Shiv Adhikari.


From Rasuwa, Uttargaya Rural Municipality Chairperson Madhav Prasad Aryal, Kalika Rural Municipality Chairperson Hari Krishna Devkota and Aamachhodingmo Rural Municipality Chairperson Buchung Tamang are attending.


Dhading is represented by Galchhi Rural Municipality Chairperson Kedarnath Khatiwada, Siddalek Rural Municipality Chairperson Parshuram Khatiwada, Gajuri Rural Municipality Chairperson Ganeshlal Shrestha and Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality Chairperson Krishna Bahadur Thapaliya (BK).


Tanahun representatives include Devghat Rural Municipality Chairperson Til Bahadur Thapa and Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality Chairperson Shukra Chuman, while Gandaki Rural Municipality Chairperson Dipak Timilsina is representing Gorkha.


Gosaikunda Rural Municipality Chairperson Kaising Nurpu Tamang is participating in the meeting virtually, according to the OPMCM.
