KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Police suspect that the driver himself set fire to a bus at a bus stop in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, on Monday.
According to the preliminary police investigation, the driver was inside the bus when it caught fire and did not attempt to flee, prompting police to suspect that he may have deliberately started the fire.

The bus, bearing registration number Ba 5 Kha 4274, was driven by 25-year-old Dawa Lama of Kavre. He was taken to Kirtipur Cleft and Burn Hospital for treatment.
Police said the exact reason for the fire has not yet been established and will be determined through further investigation. However, it is suspected that the driver may have set the bus on fire following a dispute with traffic police.
The Armed Police Force, with the help of a fire engine, brought the fire under control.
Meanwhile, there were no passengers on the bus, police said.
