Prohibitory order: What’s new!

KATHMANDU, June 28: Districts Administration Offices of three districts in the Kathmandu Valley – Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur – have decided to extend the ongoing prohibitory order by one more week. However, they have decided to further ease the prohibitory order allowing a few more public activities.

KATHMANDU, June 28: Districts Administration Offices of three districts in the Kathmandu Valley – Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur – have decided to extend the ongoing prohibitory order by one more week. However, they have decided to further ease the prohibitory order allowing a few more public activities.

Here are some major activities that will be allowed from Tuesday:



  • Factories, industries and construction activities can be operated adopting proper COVID-19 health safety protocols

  • Grocery stores, dairy, meat shops, vegetables and fruits shops, book shops, stationary to remain open till 6 PM

  • Departmental stores, shopping mall, clothes and shoe stores, cosmetics, jewelry shops, electronic stores, automobile related stores and mobile showrooms to remain open from 11 AM to 6 PM

  • Public vehicles with more than 25 seats capacity are allowed to operate inside Kathmandu Valley according to odd-even rule.

  • All government offices related to development and public services allowed to operate on shift basis

  • Banks and other financial institutes can operate mobilizing minimum manpower and avoiding large gatherings
