KATHMANDU, March 5: The Election Commission (EC) has reiterated its commitment to make the results of the general election to be held on Thursday within 24 hours of the start of the vote count.

Speaking at a press meet on Wednesday, the Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari said the ballot boxes will be collected and the counting will begin immediately after the voting is over. "We will make the results public within 24 hours of receiving the ballot boxes and starting the counting. We will also announce the results of the proportional representation soon," said Bhandari.
The EC has appealed to voters to vote with confidence, stating that all preparations for the election have been completed. According to Bhandari, the EC will manage collecting ballot boxes from 61 polling stations in 15 different districts by using helicopters.
