KATHMANDU, March 23: The Mustang Customs Office has collected nearly Rs 5.71 billion in revenue in the current fiscal year, following the full operation of the Korala border point.
According to customs chief Ramesh Khadka, the office—fully operational since mid-September—has facilitated the import of goods worth Rs 12.17 billion and exports totaling Rs 203 million as of March 21.

The data also shows that 2,347 electric vehicles have been imported through the Korala border during the period.
The Korala checkpoint emerged as a key alternative trade route after major disruptions at other northern border points. Floods in Rasuwagadhi in late June and landslides at Tatopani in July had forced the closure of those crossings, prompting increased reliance on Korala for trade.
