KATHMANDU, Sept 13: Nepal’s ODI captain Sandeep Lamichhane has become the first Nepali bowler to take 300 international wickets.
He reached the milestone after taking one wicket in Nepal’s final against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the ACC Premier Cup on Saturday.
Lamichhane has now taken 158 wickets in ODIs and 142 in T20 Internationals. He has played 79 ODIs and 78 T20Is so far.
With Nepal winning the ACC Premier Cup on foreign soil, Lamichhane has also become the first Nepali captain to lead the national team to the tournament title outside Nepal. Nepal won the inaugural ACC Premier Cup in 2023 on home soil under the captaincy of Rohit Kumar Paudel.

Lamichhane has also become the first player to be named Player of the Series in the ODI ACC Premier Cup in consecutive editions. He won the award in the 2023 edition as well, scoring 55 runs and taking 13 wickets.
He delivered an even stronger performance in the 2026 edition, taking a tournament-high 17 wickets in six matches at an impressive economy rate of 2.98.
His contribution was crucial to Nepal securing a place in its second Asia Cup.
