KATHMANDU, Nov 23: Supreme Court (SC) has asked Prime Minister Sushila Karki to submit a written response in a case related to contempt of court.
A joint bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Abdul Aziz Musalman issued the order during Sunday’s hearing.
In a dispute involving the government’s decision to recall ambassadors, the apex court has asked the Prime Minister to clarify within 15 days why the interim order issued earlier should not be enforced.

Earlier, the SC had issued an interim order against the government's move to recall ambassadors. However, Prime Minister Karki had instructed the recalled ambassadors to report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Currently, ambassadors from 11 countries have reported to the ministry.
Advocates Pratibha Upreti, Prem Silwal, Ananta Raj Luitel and Bishal Thapa filed a writ petition accusing the Prime Minister of not complying with the court order and seeking a final ruling.
The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Karki, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been named as defendants in the case.
The ambassadors recalled by the previous KP Sharma Oli-led government include those from China, Germany, Israel, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US, and Japan.
