KATHMANDU, June 3: CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the events of September 8 and 9 were pre-planned.
Speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day national workshop on “Membership Renewal and Expansion Motivation” organised by the party’s Central Organization Department on Wednesday, Oli said the incident was a “conspiracy-driven and premeditated plot,” adding that the same conclusion was reflected in a report by the National Human Rights Commission
“Some call the events of September 8 and 9 a movement and a revolution. Those who carried it out naturally call it a revolution. Those involved in the killing of youths call it a revolution,” he said.

Oli further claimed that efforts were made to destabilise his government after it had been strengthened through constitutional and democratic processes.
“To that end, trainings were conducted, including attempts such as how to set fires and make petrol bombs,” he said.
Describing the current government as “chaotic rule,” he urged the incumbent administration not to move ahead in a state of “mania.”
“Time and circumstances are never the same. Do not move ahead in haste. The Rana regime, the Panchayat system, and monarchy all fell. This chaotic system will not last long,” he said.
He also stressed the need to correctly understand recent political developments, reiterating that the September 8 and 9 incident was an attack on nationalism and patriotism.
