Students' future on hold due to headmaster's negligence

MAHOTTARI, July 1: The future of as many as 38 students has been on hold due to recklessness of the principal of Ramdev Janata Secondary School.

The uncertainty of their future loomed large after they were barred from filling up registration forms for their upcoming SLC examinations.


They were not allowed to fill up the registration form after the District Education Office, Mahottari withheld their results of grade eight.

According to Arbinda Lal Karna, District Education Officer, Mahottari, the results of their class eighth were withheld on the ground that they had joined Ramdev Janata Secondary School with the help of certificates issued by Bhramarpura Siddhartha Boarding School which is not legally registered.

These students had joined Ramdev Janata Secondary School after passing class seven from Bhramarpura Boarding School and then had appeared in class eight board exams.

Principal Balaram Pandey of Ramdev Janata Secondary School had permitted them to enroll at the school even having known that Bramarpura Boarding School was not registered at the District Education Office, Mahottari.

The tension flared up after a group of irate students led by local Nepali Congress leader Nagendra Sharma manhandled a teacher of Ramdev Janata Secondary School, prompting the police to take the situation under control.

Madan Deuba, the founder of Bhramarpur Siddhartha Boarding School, admitted to have issued certificates of class seven at the request of parents even though the school is registered only up to class five legally.
