As part of the implementation of an agreement reached on Tuesday among the Ministry of Water Supply, MWSP stakeholders and concerned committees — in the presence of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister, Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister and Urban Development Minister Kulman Ghising — the Road Division Office, Charikot, invited bids for the road upgrade.
The tender involves upgrading the 17-kilometer Melamchi–Ambathan–Melamchighyang road section, divided into three packages. Following agreements on road construction and other related matters, locals had agreed on November 5 to allow the diversion of Melamchi River water to the Kathmandu Valley through the tunnel.
