KATHMANDU, April 1: CPN-UML Vice Chair Bishnu Poudel has objected to remarks made by the party’s parliamentary leader Ram Bahadur Thapa in the House of Representatives (HoR), stating that they contradict the party’s established policies and principles.
Thapa had addressed the first meeting of the newly elected HoR on Thursday, during which he made critical comments on the Gen Z movement and the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and questioned the role of the Nepali Army.

Responding to the remarks, Poudel said they were inconsistent with the party’s official stance. “The views expressed today in the House of Representatives by Ram Bahadur Thapa, in his capacity as the parliamentary party leader of CPN-UML, are contrary to the party’s established policies and values,” he said in a Facebook post.
Poudel also expressed hope that the issue would be discussed at the party’s Central Secretariat meeting scheduled for Friday. “I expect the matter to be seriously deliberated at the Central Secretariat meeting tomorrow [Friday] and an appropriate decision to be taken,” he added.
