Three arrested with looted weapons from Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Dec 2: Nepal Police arrested three more persons with weapons looted during the Gen-Z protest.



A team deputed from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested them with weapons looted from different police offices during the protests and made them public on Monday.

They are Rasil Joshi, 28, of Kalanki, Kathmandu, Ram Chandra Kunwar (David), 19, of Darchula, currently living in Sundhara of Kathmandu, and Birat Prasad Joshi, 31, of Bafal, Kathmandu. 


Spokesperson of the Office, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kaji Kumar Acharya, said that they were arrested while acting on a tip-off. A pistol marked 'Nepal Police' and two sets of mobile phones were impounded from the three persons. 


Joshi, who had been serving a jail term in Police Circle, Swoyambhu, on a drug case, had escaped during the Gen Z protest, added SP Acharya. All of them have been sent to the District Police Range Kathmandu for further investigations.
