KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Laxmi Kumari Chaudhary, vice-chair of Bijaynagar Rural Municipality in Kapilvastu, and Anwar Mohammad Musalman, chair of Ward No. 5, have joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
Both were elected for two consecutive terms from the CPN-UML. RSP leader Rashid Mirza confirmed that the two elected representatives had joined the party.

Chaudhary has held various positions within the UML, while Musalman was also active in the party during his tenure as ward chair.
The RSP has opened a “Candidate Club” in Bijaynagar Rural Municipality to attract potential candidates for the upcoming local elections. According to the party, Chaudhary and Musalman obtained RSP membership three days before joining the candidate-focused initiative.
Mirza claimed that several other elected representatives from Bijaynagar Rural Municipality, as well as Krishnanagar and Shivraj municipalities, are also preparing to join the RSP.
