KATHMANDU, Sept 9: The United Arab Emirates has sent its fourth humanitarian aid flight to Nepal, delivering around 38 tonnes of relief supplies as the country continues to respond to the devastation caused by floods and landslides.
The latest aircraft arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday carrying around 38 tonnes of relief supplies, including 500 tents and 108 relief packages. According to The National, the latest delivery brings the total amount of humanitarian aid transported by the UAE to Nepal by air to approximately 186 tonnes since the disaster struck.

The UAE is also procuring some relief materials locally from the Nepali market to speed up the delivery of assistance to affected communities. Meanwhile, a Dubai Police search-and-rescue team remains active in the disaster-hit areas, supporting search and rescue operations.
Nepal's Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Mahabir Pun, welcomed the UAE's continued support and assistance to communities affected by the floods and landslides.
The latest shipment is part of a $10 million relief package directed by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Gulf News reported that the UAE's assistance has been delivered through four relief flights so far, with the first flight carrying 83 tonnes of food and shelter supplies, the second delivering 45 tonnes including generators, the third carrying 20 tonnes along with a Dubai Police search-and-rescue team, and the latest flight delivering 38 tonnes, including 500 tents.
The continued UAE assistance comes as Nepal grapples with the widespread impact of the floods and landslides, with rescue, relief and recovery operations continuing in several affected areas.
