KATHMANDU, Sept 27: England suffered a 3-2 defeat to Spain in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday night. In a thrilling encounter, Spain secured an important away victory to make a strong start to the competition.
In another match on Saturday, Croatia defeated Czechia 2-1. Switzerland cruised to a 3-0 victory over North Macedonia, while Albania beat Belarus 2-0. Slovakia also secured a 2-0 win over Moldova.
Elsewhere, Luxembourg defeated Bulgaria 2-1, while Iceland registered a 2-0 victory over Estonia. Slovenia and Scotland played out a goalless draw. Finland recorded the biggest victory of the night, thrashing San Marino 7-0.

With the opening round completed, the participating teams have begun their campaigns in pursuit of early points. Eight matches are scheduled for Sunday as the competition moves into its second round.
