UML moves SC demanding restoration of HoR

A meeting of the UML parliamentary party of the dissolved House had earlier decided to approach the Supreme Court.

KATHMANDU, Nov 25: The CPN-UML has filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court (SC) demanding the reinstatement of the House of Representatives, claiming its dissolution was unconstitutional.



The party submitted the petition today against the dissolution recommended by Prime Minister Sushila Karki and approved by President Ramchandra Paudel.

A meeting of the UML parliamentary party of the dissolved House had earlier decided to approach the Supreme Court.


The writ has been filed on behalf of the UML parliamentary party (dissolved House) by Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula and Whip Sunita Baral.
