KATHMANDU, April 1: A meeting of the parliamentary party of the CPN-UML is currently underway.
According to the party, the meeting will select the leader of the parliamentary party in the House of Representatives (HoR), along with the chief whip and other key positions.
UML to strongly protest against constitution amendment bill
The meeting is also expected to formulate a clear strategy regarding the party’s role in Parliament amid the current political situation.
The Federal Parliament meeting has been scheduled for 2 PM on Thursday, prompting the UML to move ahead with selecting its parliamentary party leader.
The party has already announced that it will politically and legally protest the arrest of party chair KP Sharma Oli. Party leaders said the meeting will also discuss plans to intensify pressure both on the streets and inside Parliament in response to the development.
