KATHMANDU, Oct 18: CPN-UML Central Committee member Usha Kiran Timilsina has demanded the resignation of party Chair KP Sharma Oli.
Speaking at the ongoing Central Committee meeting that began on Friday morning, Timilsina said it would be impossible to go into elections or launch a movement under the current leadership structure.

Stating that the main political task in the country at present is the reorganization of political parties, she emphasized that restructuring the UML is crucial to that end. She noted that the Nepali Congress has already begun its internal reorganization and said it is now the UML’s turn.
“The chairperson should resign to open the door to resolving the country’s political deadlock. We cannot go to elections or movements with the existing structure. The moment you step down and take on an advisory role, a positive message will spread across the country, Comrade Oli,” she said during the meeting.
