Addressing a function to mark the second anniversary of Madheshi Journalists Association on Saturday, Vice President Jha expressed grievance saying he faced hardship in the past seven years.
“Vice president is the worthless position of this country,” he said, “I am more sad than happy to be vice president for seven years,” adding that he faced difficulties as the position holds no executive powers.
He was of the opinion that positions of finance secretary and defense secretary are better than that of the vice president.
“I have heard that major parties in recent 16-point deal agreed to select vice president from Madhesh-based parties,” Jha said, “The post is inappropriate for those active in politics.”
During the function, Republica’s Siraha Correspondent Mithilesh Yadav was honored with Martyr Ramesh Mahato Youth Journalism Award.
