Among the arrested are Asmin Thapa, 19, Ranjan Gurung, 22, Khem Bahadur Thapa, 19, Rem Bahadur Darai, 22 and Sriram Thapa, 19, of Byas municipality-1, Bhadgaun, informed District Police Office, Tanahun. [break]
They had fled the scene after beating up a journalist Keshar Thapa working at Bhanubhakta FM in Damauli.
The absconded were caught from Bhirkot VDC of the district Friday on the basis of tipoff.
The unruly group had roughed up journalist Thapa at 7 PM on March 14 while the latter was heading to Bhadgaun for personal work.
Journalist Thapa had his hands and legs broken and sustained injuries in different parts of body. He is undergoing treatment in Charak hospital in Pokhara.
Issuing press releases, journalists working in the district demanded the district administration find out guilty party and bring them to book at the earliest.
