Consensus govt for new election: NC gen secy Singh

LAHAN, Nov 17: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress Prakash Man Singh has said a national consensus government is necessary for a new election to be held in next April.



Inaugurating a marathon race organized at Pashupati Adarsha Secondary School by the Nepali Congress Lahan Town Committee on Saturday morning, he said consensus government was necessary as parties in government had lost political and moral grounds as they were divided.[break]



The winners of the ten km race were to receive Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 5,000 and certificates, said organizing committee´s Arun KC. Some 300 people participated in the race.



One interesting aspect was that while Singh was delivering speech against drug abuse from the stage, NC Mahasamiti Member Ram Dayal Yadav, also a guest in the programme, was making tobacco.
