Corruption case filed against account officer

KATHMANDU, July 1: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Wednesday filed a charge sheet at the Special Court against Account Officer Surendra Prasad Shrestha.

CIAA in a statement said Shrestha, employed at the District Education Office Bhojpur, submitted fake document for the purpose of promotion.

“Thus, the commission has charged the accused as per Sec 16 of Prevention of Corruption Act 2002, and sought maximum punishment under sec 16(1) of the same act,” CIAA said in the statement.
