“It is a gesture of recognition for Nepal´s smooth supply process and satisfactory performance of Nepali workers in Korea.”

Korean is planning to hire around 20,000 workers from 15 countries in 2010.

Korea has recognized Nepal as the best labor supplying country for applying shortest sending process and good track record of Nepali workers in Korea.

Around 3,800 Nepali job seekers have reached Korea since Nepali signed labor agreement with the booming Asian peninsula on July 23, 2007, under the EPS that has given permission to local employers to hire foreign workers to meets the workers demand in the country.

More than 4,200 workers out of 6,500 who have been included in job rosters of HRD Korea have already signed contracts with employers through HRD Korea. Officials said Korea would give opportunity to remaining job seekers for Korean jobs excluding the new quotas.

Acharya said examination for Korean Language Test (KLT) for new job aspirants will be held in August and results will be published in September.

Korea has been hiring foreign workers under the EPS since 2004. Both countries have renewed the EPS agreement on June 18 last year to pave way for Nepal to send workers to Korea for the next two years.
