Nepal’s COVID-19 positivity rate stands at 44 percent as over 3,000 die since start of second wave

KATHMANDU, May 23: Nepal’s COVID-19 positivity was 44 percent as of Saturday.



The positivity rate has gone up by seven percent than that of Friday.

Of the 20,105 COVID-19 tests conducted on Saturday, 8,980 were positive. With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally now stands at 556,643. Of them as many as 252,366 were recorded since the beginning of the second wave of COVID-19 in Nepal.


Likewise, 129 people died of COVID-19 on Saturday. With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll has now reached 6,153. Of them 3,121 were recorded after the second wave.
