Poll date within 3 days: Dahal

KATHMANDU, April 13: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said on Saturday that the government is going to announce the date of the election within two or three days.



Talking with journalists at his party head office at Perisdanda about a meeting with Interim Election Council chief Khil Raj Regmi, he also added that it was necessary to announce a date without delay. [break]



"After talked with [Khil Raj] Regmi I sensed that the election date would be announced within two or three days," said Dahal. He also said that all forces should act to foster the environment for elections. His meeting with Regmi was also focused on how to prepare the environment for elections, he added.



At the meeting, Dahal informed Regmi about his coming China visit. Dahal will leave for China on Sunday for a week-long visit.



Talking about the visit, he informed that it would be focused on economic issues. At a function Friday, Dahal had said that he would propose construction of infrastructure for Nepali sports.



"It would be good for Nepal to keep basic benefits at the centre and we should take help from both neighbors --China and India --to develop Nepal," added Dahal. He also said that Chinese help is most crucial to develop Nepal´s economy, adding that his visit would be focused on this issue.



"My visit would be focused on political stability to bring big investments to Nepal for its development," said Dahal.
